About Calor

Calor Creative is a design studio specializing in brand identity and website design.

In Spanish, “calor” means heat. It can be used to describe warm weather or to express someone’s enthusiasm for a subject. We like to think we combine both: bright, warm designs with a passion for learning about other people and helping them share their ideas with the world.

We believe great branding is telling your business’s story in a way that customers are eager to be a part of. We work with companies large and small to create identities that are thoughtful and built to last.

Our Process

Research

The beginning. This step involves us figuring out who you are, who your target audience is, and why you do what you do. We do this by asking questions, listening, reading, and absorbing any and all information that we can to understand your business, your industry, and your audience.

Ideation

Now that we’ve got a better picture of your business, we can start brainstorming the visual identity of your brand. In this step, we do a lot of sketching, moodboarding, concepting, and tweaking until we can present you with something that works.

Implementation

Here’s where we really see your project come to life! Once we’ve nailed down the visual direction of your brand, we start to make them into assets that you can really use to connect with your audience.

  • Lila Jimenez

    FOUNDER + DESIGNER

    Lila founded Calor Creative in 2022. She has been drawing since she could hold a crayon, and her education in design at UGA made her childhood dreams a viable career. Lila specializes in brand strategy, visual branding, and illustration.

    She likes to explore new places, watch cooking shows, and is in dire need of a bigger bookshelf.

  • Margaret Waller

    DESIGNER

    Margaret graduated from the University of Georgia’s Lamar Dodd School of Art with a degree in Graphic Design. She works on social media posts, animations, and branding projects. Margaret has a particular passion for animation and brand development.

    She likes to read, play video games, and hang out with friends playing Dungeons & Dragons.

  • Aaron Daugherty

    WEB WIZARD

    Aaron joined the team in 2025 and works on bringing our website designs to life with his tech wizardry. From his days of installing Linux distributions on his mom’s laptop to graduating with a degree in Computer Science from UGA, he has always loved getting under the proverbial hood and typing code. Aaron builds and helps design all of our web projects, and takes care of the boring tech stuff too!

    He’s an outdoor enthusiast, a guitarist in multiple local bands, and an enjoyer of board games and video games alike!

  • Mia Smitherman

    JUNIOR DESIGNER

    Mia is a fourth-year student at UGA. She is a double major in Graphic Design and Advertising. She assists in various tasks, including branding and web design. She enjoys the process of each project, but likes working on visual branding and illustrative elements the most.

    She hosts a weekly radio show, collects prints and paper mementos, and crochets in her free time.
